Designed by Ming Architects the house offers much more than just the dramatic feature wall clad in river pebbles as it sits snugly between a koi pond on one side and a swimming pool on the other. The multi-level residence was crafted to combine complete privacy with an open living environment that allows the homeowners to easily friends and family.
When a fire wiped out 4.5 acres of lush forest in Colorado along with a small cabin at its heart it inadvertently opened up the property for a bigger and bolder mountain home. The street façade of this polished contemporary home sets itself apart from others thanks to a gorgeous brick wall and design that seems to combine contrasting textures with ease. It is this bold and yet seamless blend of different elements that resonates throughout the house making it both inviting and inimitable.
Use of large dark windows with dark metallic frame gives the Aussie residence a subtle industrial vibe; an idea that is enhanced by the occasional presence of the exposed brick wall. But still the interior feels strictly contemporary (with a fun twist) and the kitchen and dining space on the lower level continue this theme.
